Examinations held at LSU - Module examinations
(1) Examinations are conducted during examination periods as announced in the usual terms. The dates of the examination are set by the coordinating lecturer agreed with students in advance. Examination is conducted by the lecturer who gives the module. Examination dates have to be announced by the Quality assurance centre of LSU at least 2 weeks before the examination.
(2) Examinations are taken in written and oral form.
(3) Written examinations pursue the guidelines as follows:
Written examinations can be realised in form of tests and in the form of papers and assignments.
Tests are graded by one examiner. The grading process should not exceed 2 weeks.
The examiner defines which aids can be used. The aids legitimate for the examination have to be announced before the commencement.
Written tests can be verified by other scientific staff but need to be finally checked by an examiner.
(4) Oral examinations pursue the guidelines as follows:
Oral examinations can be realised in form of interview.
Tests are graded by one examiner immediately.
The examiner defines which aids can be used and the duration of the exam. The aids legitimate for the examination and the duration have to be announced before the commencement.
(5) If the candidate can prove to the Dean of faculty that s/he cannot take an examination or parts of it in the way required due to a lasting or permanent physical handicap, the candidate can either be allocated extra time or for the original format to be structured to their needs.
(6) The forms of examination may consist of several smaller tests, which will equal the final module examination. The final aggregate grade is determined as a weighted mean from all single grades. However, a Certificate is given to each student for each module undertaken.
